Mumbai schools and colleges remain closed on July 7, 2026, after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) extended the holiday due to heavy rainfall and an orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Educational institutions across Mumbai, including government, private and civic-run schools, have been shut as a precautionary measure. Neighbouring regions such as Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar and Raigad have also reported closures amid continued monsoon disruption.
