RIYADH — Saudia announced Friday that Captain Hamoud Ali Alkalthami was among those killed in Thursday’s attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, confirming that one of its aircraft was damaged while parked on the ground.The airline said no passengers were on board the aircraft at the time of the incident.In a separate obituary, Saudia identified Alkalthami as the employee who lost his life in the airport attacks on October 8.The national flag carrier paid tribute to the late captain, recognizing his contributions throughout his career and the lasting impact he had on his colleagues.Saudia extended its condolences to his family, loved ones and colleagues.The airline said it immediately activated its emergency response procedures in coordination with relevant authorities to manage the incident, monitor those affected and provide necessary care and support to them and their families.Saudia confirmed that its flights and operations at King Khalid International Airport had returned to normal as of 6 p.m. Thursday, October 8.It added that it continues to monitor flight schedules and communicate with passengers through its official channels.The announcement follows confirmation by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) that three Saudi citizens were killed and several others injured in two attacks on the airport Thursday.
